Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Apigee Architect to lead the design and implementation of API management solutions using the Apigee platform. The role is critical in architecting scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs that align with business objectives and enable digital transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background in API design, integration, and architecture, along with expertise in Apigee platform capabilities and API best practices.

Key Responsibilities

► Solution Design

• Architect end-to-end API management solutions using Apigee, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.

► API Design

• Design RESTful APIs, define API specifications, and establish best practices for consistency, usability, and maintainability.

► Platform Configuration

• Configure and customize the Apigee platform to implement API proxies, policies, authentication, and traffic management strategies.

► Integration

• Integrate Apigee with backend systems, cloud services, and external APIs for seamless data exchange and interoperability.

► Security

• Implement API security controls, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and threat protection mechanisms.

► Performance Optimization

• Monitor API performance, usage, and health metrics; implement caching, rate limiting, and optimization strategies to ensure reliability.

► Governance & Compliance

• Establish API governance frameworks, including versioning, lifecycle management, documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards.

► DevOps Integration

• Integrate DevOps practices and automation tools for streamlined CI/CD pipelines, API deployment, and monitoring processes.

► Documentation

• Create comprehensive API documentation, including developer guides, usage examples, and detailed API specifications.

► Training & Enablement

• Provide mentoring and training to development teams and stakeholders on Apigee best practices and platform capabilities.

Required Qualifications

✔ Education:
▪ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
▪ Master’s degree preferred.

✔ Professional Experience:
▪ Minimum 5 years of experience as an Apigee Architect or in a similar API management role.
▪ Proven ability to design and deliver API management solutions in enterprise environments.

✔ Technical Expertise:
▪ Deep understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and integration patterns.
▪ Strong hands-on experience with Apigee platform—API proxies, policies, analytics, and developer portal.
▪ Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Python, or similar programming languages.
▪ Strong understanding of API security protocols such as OAuth, JWT, SSL/TLS, and API key management.
▪ Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

✔ Soft Skills:
▪ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
▪ Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams.

✔ Certifications (Preferred):
▪ Apigee Certified API Engineer (ACE) or equivalent certification.
